Grace in the crossroads of life is a blog of essays, articles and poetry that highlights the grace that is sometimes hard to see clearly. Sometimes the process of dealing with our issues must be addressed so we can heal and appreciate the grace shown to us.

HOW TO START OVER

HOW TO START OVER

I recently talked about starting over. The next question is how do I start over? You have to start somewhere right? Where do I begin? My answer: Start by Jumping. Jumping requires two things, faith and obedience. In order to take a leap of faith, one must trust that God is with you. The courage to jump comes from listening to God’s instructions when the Holy Spirit prompts you to move. I offer myself as an example. The following is a thread where I explained how I started over by taking a leap of faith in being obedient to the prompting of the Holy Spirit. The thread was originally posted on Twitter. I will do a separate post on my progress later.

It’s been said write the book you want to read. Create the things you like to shop for. It makes sense. I created templates to make sermon writing easier because I couldn’t find one that helped streamline my writing process. It inspired me to design a planner for ministers. The planner is on the way, but you can find early drafts of the template here.

I started sharing devotionals I wrote during my conversations with God on my blog because God said “you’re not alone”. Others told me it was a needed word once I shared.

Some of my blog posts are based on personal experience. Some based on conversations I observe. All are guided by the Holy Spirit. It is true that what you go through is not just for you, but someone else. Everyone’s relationship with God is different, but it should be visible.

Writing is worship for me. One aspect of worship anyway. Learn to hear God when God speaks. Heed the sound of that still small voice. If you cannot hear it, shut up for a while. Follow the prompts of the Holy Spirit. Often the instructions are meant to bless someone else.

Your blessing comes from being obedient. You may not notice it right away; it’s often mixed in with the many ways grace and mercy keep you going. Be thankful for progress in your life and be joyful if your actions lifted up someone else. You never know how low they were.

This came as a response to a fellow minister who asked me what made me share my testimony on a public blog. He was inspired that I put it out there while still going through my issues instead of waiting until I had overcome. My answer was simple. That too was prompted by the Holy Spirit. God told me I wasn’t alone. By sharing my story, people expressed how they were inspired to press through their challenges, some of which were the same as mine. My heart is joyful knowing that my words encourage people and move them closer to God.

It doesn’t matter how many followers you have. If God directs your movement, you will reach the lost that need to be found, serve the need in search of a resolution and encourage the person distracted by life’s wounds.

God is still rolling stones and He uses Christ Representers to do it. Be obedient and allow your private worship to manifest into public blessings. Remember, there is grace in the crossroads of life. Be a light along the way. - End Thread
