Season of Advent: Part 4
The time is near. The day we commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ is just three days away. Songs of celebration fill the air as families travel miles to worship together on this joyous occasion. But it's not just about December 25th on the calendar.
Jesus is the reason for the season!
The birth of Jesus is about the fulfillment of a promise to God's chosen people. God's promises never return void, but are always kept according to God's time. In order for Jesus to atone for the sins of the world, it was necessary to enter the world as a human so His blood could be shed. The cradle comes before the cross. That is where the joy is found.
God does not make idle promises. He promised salvation from sin, deliverance from the burdens of the world and residence in God's eternal kingdom. The birth of Jesus confirmed the prophecy of His arrival. It also serves as proof that the remaining prophecies were in process and would come to pass at their appointed time.
In this moment of Advent, rejoice in the promises of God and the hope of their fulfillment. Celebrate with thanksgiving and share the good news of Jesus Christ with all you encounter. The reason for the season brings joy, peace and love. Rejoice!!!
